Mommy notes

This is Mommy here, wanting to tell a few fun Gabe stories that only a Mom can be proud of. Gabe will be back tomorrow to post more pics.

Gabe has decided to start potty training himself. Last Thursday he told his teacher "poo-poo", she checked his diaper and told him nothing was there. A little later he told her "poo-poo" again, she checked and again nothing so she asked him if he wanted to go on the potty. He said, "Uh-huh! (yes)"...he proceeded to poop on the potty! Since then, he has not gone in the potty but he is very interested in the potty and regularly asks to sit on it. We are going this weekend to buy him a potty, though he seems pretty ok with the normal potty too. He is also moving to the 2 year old classroom at school next week as his teachers feel he is socially ready and his interest in potty training will be fully supported and encouraged in the two year old classroom with the tiniest little 'real' potty you've ever seen...too cute!

Today, when Gabe and I got home from a walk/playground visit I asked him to take off his shoes and hat and put them away. He proceeded to put his hat on the counter (because that's where Dadddy puts his), sit down, take of his shoes and then his socks to look for "uckies" between his toes. He then stood up, took his socks to the hamper in his room, came back, grabbed his shoes and put them in their basket in his room. I then reminded him that his hat does not belong on the counter and to please hang it in his room where it belongs. He agreeably grabbed the hat and hung it on his closet door knob where it belongs. I have a very smart and obedient little boy! Let's just hope it lasts into the "terrible twos"! Though I am hoping for something more like the "totally awesome twos"!!

I can't believe my little boy is almost TWO YEARS OLD! He is this little person who can communicate his needs, entertain us with his "sillies" and show us more love and affection than I thought possible. Now the next big question is, when do we get to do it all over again with #2??? Gabe will hopefully be able to greet a sibling by the time he is 4...so stay tuned, it definitely won't happen in the next 9 months :) Thank you to all of you who take time out of your busy days to read this blog, and thank you more for your feedback and appreciation of this blog.
