I went to a birthday party for my 2 year old neighbor Anya. Her Daddy works at an ice skating rink so she has an ice skating party. It was a mermaid/pirate party!
Mom laced up some skates and took me on the ice. She kept telling me I was heavy and I tried to keep my feet under me.
Watch the videos below of me and Mommy skating together.
Mmmmm carrot! Eating it with the greenery on it makes it extra tasty.
I know, I know...it's been 6 months since our last post! I can't believe how quickly 2011 has gone. I hope you enjoy getting caught up with the first half of Gabe's 2011.
I've realized that as Gabe gets older it's harder to have new reasons to take pictures and blog about his growth. Now that he's 4 (Oh My Gosh!) and even through 3 it's not like kids really hit many milestones or change a lot month to month. So, I guess I'm going to use that as my excuse for why I don't update this blog as often as I used to.
As Gabe matures he has taken on a very sweet, genuine personality. He is quick to pay a compliment, "Mommy, I like your dress."; or very sensitive like covering his eyes during a "scary" moment in a movie or asking why someone is crying/angry/negative emotion in a book or show. His interest in how things work continues and his physical aptitude is finally catching up to his way above average language skills.
He really is a real, albeit little, person that Matt and I love taking new places, exposing him to new foods and experiences. He is full of opinions, questions and observations. And of course asserts himself via talking back and tantrums occassionally. He is a very easy child and for that we are forever grateful as we get to spend more time having fun than discipling or otherwise.
I always make the promise with best intentions, so I'll say it again that I'm going to try to post more often. Until next time...
